In searching for some quick, back-free yoga stretches online, I came upon a person's old morning routine:
"Once upon a time, I woke nearly every morning at 6am to meditate, write in my journal, practice some pranayama and, do a few yoga stretches and postures. I went to my favorite yoga class several times per week, attended every workshop I could, and read every yoga book I could get my hands on. Most importantly, I slept, and slept well." -- Yogini
While I would not want to devote as much time to yoga (as illustrated in my search for five-minute stretches) as this person, I do like the first sentence's fundamental ideas. I personally have no weekly to-do other than Council meetings at the library, and can never get myself to really commit to a journal blog. My sleep hours are pretty good, I'll give myself that.
My morning is as follows:
"I wake up at 6am, fumble around until I can get my alarm clock, wander onto the couch, where my coffee is set for me, and then stay in half-consciousness for an hour. I then get dressed, wash my face, brush my teeth, brush my hair, do my makeup and leave in the thirty minutes before 7:30."
What I am trying to say is that I'm starting to wonder, based on their blog, if my daily routine is that healthy. Most of my time is spent sitting down, doing nothing. If I meditated and wrote in my journal blogged in the morning, followed by stretches, I think my days could be better spent. Comments?
